At this price, I think I'll keep a couple of pairs around just as spares. These are good tubes at a very reasonable price. In a ranking of sound quality I would place them below the classic Zenith tubes but above both the 1960s Sylvanias and the new production JJs. The overall tone is in fact closest to the Sylvanias, but they stand up very well against the others as well. I have tried them side by side with a set of 1960 Sylvanias, some older S-bottle Zenith 6V6s, and a set of new manufacture JJ 6V6S tubes. Subjectively there doesn't seem to be any increase in the odd order harmonic structure and, in the UL mode, they are delivering the same smooth even tone I have come to expect from the 6V6 in this topology. Power output is consistent with other 6V6s and the single tone frequency response is the same. Technically the tubes appear to be a true 6V6 equivalent. First impression is that the tubes are performing well above their price point. Well, my tubes arrived from Russia and I've been trying them out in my Lacewood amp in my office.
